Data pemantauan satelit dua tahun lalu oleh FWI dan Greenpeace, menunjukkan luas hutan alami papua sekitar 17,9 juta ha. Tapi begitu konsesi ijin-ijin tambang mineral, minyak dan gas, juga ijin penebangan kayu dan perkebunan skala besar di sana, hampir seluruh provinsi dipenuhi perijinan. Hutan papua pun makin hancur, dan ironisnya justru penduduk asli Papua tetap miskin.

In the recently concluded elections of the Global Knowledge Partnership (GKP), OneWorld South Asia became its new regional coordinator. The Delhi-based civil society network will promote GKPs objective of building multi-sectoral partnerships for promoting knowledge and ICT for development in South Asia.
