19.11.2007 Muhammad Yunus, Nobel laureate and founder of the Grameen Bank, says Bangladesh will eradicate poverty by 2030 and wants India to take up the challenge as well. On a recent visit to India, he spoke on the bank’s role, poverty museums, and issues close to his heart.

13.11.2007 One month after a new national policy on resettlement and rehabilitation was announced, the Indian government has to still make it public. In his scathing critique, Shripad Dharmadhikary, a coordinator of Manthan Adhyayan Kendra, finds many limitations and loopholes in the policy, saying that big industries and developers stand to benefit more than the affected people.

13.11.2007 The second Internet Governance Forum that opened at Rio de Janeiro discussed ways to use the Internet for development, among other critical issues. The four-day event is being promoted by the United Nations and will be attended by over thousand participants from the governments, private sector, NGOs, academics and the technical communities.
