In vista della discussione sulla proposta di legge di riforma della cooperazione, l'Associazione Ong italiane presenta una nota che segnala "alcuni elementi fondamentali che devono caratterizzare le attività di cooperazione allo sviluppo". "Lo sviluppo è una questione di donne e di uomini, essi devono essere il fine di ogni iniziativa e diventare protagonista dello sviluppo proprio e della propria nazione. E’ fondamentale affermare e concretamente riconoscere la centralità delle risorse umane, in ogni ambito operativo" - afferma la nota dell'Associazione che raggruppa 163 organizzazioni non governative italiane.

In the progress report of Asia Pacific countriesÂ’ MDGs achievement this year Indonesia still remains being categorized as backward country and possibly is far behind in the MDGs achievement unless it is accompanied by political will and pro-poor state budget.

‘Agriculture for development’ is the new mantra of the World Bank. The latest WB Development Report calls for greater investment in agriculture in developing countries, claiming its GDP growth is four times more effective in reducing poverty than GDP growth originating outside the sector.
