31.07.2007 UNESCO handed over 82 pieces of equipment, granted under a US$2.5 million project, funded by Italy, to create a new TV studio aimed at developing educational broadcasting in Afghanistan. The project started in 2003, and helped the Ministry of Education to achieve its goal of providing education to Afghans in all parts of the country.

Through community mobilisation in 18,000 Gujarat villages the initiative has met with sizeable success.

Integrating creative technology into classrooms

The retreat will help teachers, parents and administrators to start or continue a technology program at their schools or organizations. 02.07.2007 Pakistan is launching the largest-ever measles vaccination campaign to bring down disease-related deaths by 90 per cent by the year 2010. The partners in the initiative include the American Red Cross, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, UN Foundation, UNICEF and the World Health Organization (WHO).
