Increasing numbers of individuals, who somehow manage to get out of areas flattened by the quake, say that even where distribution centres of relief supplies are in place, they are not distributing them with any sense of urgency because questions of policy and eligibility are under consideration.

The Pakistani government has announced an increase in compensation for survivors whose houses were devastated in the 8 October quake. The survivors could now get up to nearly $2,929 for rebuilding their houses, an increase of about $2,511.
