29.05.2007 JOHANNESBURG, May 29 (IPS) - About one million people in need of anti-retroviral treatment for HIV/AIDS are yet to receive it in four southern African states, according to Medicins Sans Frontieres, a global nongovernmental organisation specialising in medical services.

01.05.2007 Heavy loans, power, water shortage and natural disasters are driving farmers of many Indian states to suicide. The widows of these farmers are struggling hard to keep their farms running. Lack of knowledge and contacts, no support from male farmers, mostly relatives, and vulnerability to exploitation and cheating - for them now, it could be a losing battle.
