Community action needs for rehabilitation after floods
24.07.2007 UNICEF has emphasized on the need for community intervention in the aftermath of flooding in the east Indian state of Orissa. 200 youth volunteers were trained and given pamphlets on safe water and sanitation and the state government also responded by releasing a relief package for the affected people.

18.07.2007 Insecurity in North Kivu province in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has led to the displacement of an estimated 650,000 civilians, the largest number of people to have fled their homes because of conflict in the region in the past three years, a spokesman for the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) said.
