08.07.2005 If Al Qaeda is indeed to blame for Thursday's bomb attacks in London, it makes sense that they would try to disrupt the course of the G8 summit, says TomPaine.com's Patrick Doherty. The terrorist network needs the West to remain dependent on Middle Eastern oil and to continue to appear as imperial aggressors--the summit's focus on climate change and African poverty could change all that.
