31.08.2005 The UN has reported that an increasing number of people are disappearing in Nepal and this is being done by both - the government as well as the Maoist rebels. In another report, UNICEF has said that an estimated 2.4 million children and women are trafficked every year for prostitution, forced labour and mining work.

29.08.2005 Femmigration is a Gender and ICT project that was implemented with the objective of advising migrant women of their rights and of support services within the European Union (EU). The strategy was to build a website that would provide information about legal provisions with regards to migrant workers and prostitutes in the country of transit and country of destination. As much as information has been a tool for empowerment, without ICT and the Internet, the impact of Femmigration would have been limited.

22.08.2005 Victims of gender based violence in Kosovo, including victims of human trafficking, will soon have additional recourse for aid thanks to an agreement signed today by the United Nations and local postal authorities to establish a toll-free ‘HelpLine’ in the UN-administered province.
