"Our institutions are determined to fight human trafficking in Kosovo”, said Kosovo Prime Minister Bajram Kosumi yesterday, at the press conference that marked the launch of the campaign for increase of public awareness, prevention and fighting human trafficking. The Campaign will be implemented by the Office of the Prime Minister, with the support by IOM – International Office of Migrations and financed by USAID.

The British solidarity organisation, the Haiti Support Group (HSG), is extremely concerned about the violent attacks on Haitians and Haitian-Dominican in the Dominican Republic. Amidst a recent rise in xenophobic hostility against Haitians, scores of people have been attacked, and according to recent reports, more than 13 people have been killed in just the last few weeks.

Afghanistan has signed the 1951 Convention relating to the Status of Refugees and its 1967 Protocol, a significant sign of recovery for a country that used to be one of the world's largest producers of displaced persons, the United Nations refugee agency said today.

Over the past period of several years, the city of Durres has suffered from a great crisis in the employment sector, which has deteriorated further in the last three months. According to the official statistics, there are 21,650 unemployed in Durres, and only in the period June-August of this year, additional 1,700 men and women have lost their jobs due to the closing of several companies.
