28.10.2005 Fifty years ago, the Tonga people were evicted from their lands along the Zambezi River when the construction of the Kariba Dam flooded their valley homes. Now, an oral testimony project is highlighting the voices of the Tonga, exploring the history and contemporary experiences of communities that paid dearly for their country's development.

20.10.2005 The Zagreb Film Festival offered its support to the “Roma Inclusion Decade 2005-2015” initiative and included a dedicated “The Wheel” programe to the Programme of the Festival.

18.10.2005 The Friedrich Ebert Stiftung presented yesterday, October 17, the results of its survey designed to detect the most serious problems of the Roma in Macedonia and to propose future activities. The Survey was presented by Stephan Denert, Director of FES Macedonia, Eben Friedman, and expert on Roma issues, and Vladimir Bozinovski from the Institute for Democracy in Skopje.

13.10.2005 The Division for the Social Policy and Development (DSPD) of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) will organize an Expert Group Meeting on: “Dialogue in the Social Integration Process: Building peaceful social relations – by, for and with People” at the United Nations Headquarters, New York, from 21 – 23 November 2005.
