28.02.2006 The Council for Defense of Human Rights and Freedoms – CDHRF, says that the Roma, Ashkalia and Egyptian IDP’s, which remain in camps in Northern Kosovo since the end of teh war in Kosovo in 1999, live in extremely difficult conditions, exposed to the high risks to their health presented by high lead presence in their blood. This is nothing new and at the same time known to everyone. But, so far nothing serious has been undertaken to rectify their issue”.

27.02.2006 Inclusive education is a vital part of discussion on developments in education at both national and international levels. The earlier system of segregated education, or special schools for children with disabilities, was a reflection of care, not rights or entitlements. It is now believed that this should be replaced by inclusive education with emphasis on rights, equal opportunity and participation.

The campaign called ‘We Can End All Violence Against Women’ uses many different means to reach men and women across South Asia. In Sri Lanka, water tanks in tsunami-relief camps provided an unexpected platform for the campaign messages.

21.02.2006 Harijans are treated as sub humans and untouchability still persists even after 73 years of formation of HSS. He has tried to address the importance of social equity in achieving MDGs along with emerging evidence from India.
