27.03.2006 Global Knowledge Partnership (GKP) has launched a new youth programme designed to encourage young leaders to be a catalyst for positive change and to serve as role models in their societies. The Youth Social Enterprise Initiative (YSEI) is the only programme of its kind designed to support projects by young people between the ages of 17 to 30, who use innovative solutions to address social problems, specifically those using Information and Communication Technologies for Development (ICT4D).

24.03.2006 The IMOR – Interactive Network for Education and Resources started its new Local Self-Government in Your Community project, which aims to involve the youth in the development of their respective local communities.

23.03.2006 Best Stories from Visa Queues, a collection of stories published by the CitizensÂ’ Pact for the SEE, will be presented to the Members of the European Parliament. The authors of the stories included in the compilation - Vitomirka Trebovac, Ivan Branisavljevic, Nemanja Kuzmanovski and Barbara Pavljasevic - will read excerpts from their works.

22.03.2006 More than 100 child activists gathered in Mexico City Tuesday on the eve of World Water Day to draw attention to the water crisis and its effects on children in underdeveloped countries worldwide. Access to safe and clean water affects every aspect of their lives, the children say.

18.03.2006 The Children's Human Rights Centre of Albania has become an affiliate member of ECPAT International, a network of organisations and individuals working together to eliminate the commercial sexual exploitation of children. ECPAT it seeks to encourage the world community to ensure that children everywhere enjoy their fundamental rights free from all forms of commercial sexual exploitation.

15.03.2006 The “Youth Congress” organized by Kosova Youth Network concluded its works for the sixth time in the row. Congress was held in the premises of Kosovo Police Academy in Vushtrri with a participation of more than one hundred youth nongovernmental organizations from Kosovo.

08.03.2006 Last week, a delegation of the European Youth Forum visited Croatia, on invitation by the Croatian Youth Network. The visit aimed to determine the situation in youth policy in the Republic of Croatia and get introduced with the work of the CYN, as preparatory activity to the procedure for CYN's membership into the EYF. The whole accession procedure takes three years to complete.

07.03.2006 A regional Youth Policy Conference will take place March 8-9, 2006, in Sarajevo, under the “Youth Lens – Youth Network for Cooperation with Governments” regional project. The Conference will discuss the challenges and opportunities for regional cooperation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Serbia and Montenegro.

07.03.2006 In an effort to mobilize young people to work toward international development goals, delegates from Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean have agreed on plans for a world summit of youth leaders at United Nations Headquarters in New York in October, 2006.

06.03.2006 A conference on youth policy in BiH, Croatia and SCG will be held in Sarajevo, March 8-9, 2006. The conference will discuss the challenges and opportunities in the area of regional cooperation. The sessions of the conference will be held in two venues, the Parlamentarian House Hall and the Centre for Student Initiatives (formerly Igman Cinema).
