Change Initiatives organized a workshop on the scope for ICT-based Enterprises for Women on 2nd and 3rd March 2006 in Kolkata. Dr G.D. Gautam, Special Secretary, Department of IT, Government of West Bengal inaugurated this workshop. Also present at the occasion were President of Change Initiatives Mr Sibaji Roy, Vice President Dr Mukul Mukherjee & Workshop Convener Ms. Alokananda Rao. The entire session was presided by Director of Change Initiatives, Ms Jhumpa Ghosh Ray.

In order to encourage large scale investment in the otherwise unattractive area of rural electrification, the Centre proposes to evolve model schemes in consultation with Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard).
