Fifteen years ago, after discovering carcinogenic solvents in their drinking water, Wisconsin citizens began demanding that nearby Badger Army Ammunition Plant--which was polluting the regionÂ’s water, land, and air--be closed. Today, the clean up continues and the volunteers remain a steady voice for human health.

Rep. Richard Pombo is about to introduce a bill that will dramatically alter the criteria a species must meet to qualify for protections under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). Critics charge the new legislation would contradict the goal of the ESA--to prevent endangered species from going extinct.

Europeans will be hearing a lot more about sustainable energy; the Sustainable Energy Europe campaign was launched Monday by the European Commission. Aiming to raise awareness about renewable energy, the campaign will also work to stimulate economic growth by increasing private investment in sustainable energy technologies.

The U.N. World Heritage Committee added seven natural sites to UNESCOÂ’s World Heritage List last Thursday. The sites include South Africa's Vredefort Dome, part of a meteorite impact structure; Egypt's Wadi Al-Hitan Whale Valley; and the islands of Baja California.

The Federal Government has wrapped the news on the signing of a death penalty and execution for the Neretva River with a Slovenian-Austrian group in imported wrapping paper made of lies and trickery. Of course, the execution will be helped by several “traitors” from Sarajevo. The greatest treasure was sold for peanuts.
