Animali: 16mila a rischio, sito Scout istiga maltrattamenti 03.05.2006 Oltre 16.000 specie di animali e piante rischiano di scomparire, compreso un mammifero su quattro e una specie di uccelli su otto riferisce il rapporto della World Conservation Union (Iucn): il numero totale delle specie già ufficialmente dichiarate estinte è 784, altre 65 si possono ormai solo trovare in cattività. Delle 40.177 specie valutate per la lista rossa della Iucn, 16119 figurano tra quelle minacciate da estinzione: tra queste l’orso bianco, l'ippopotamo e la gazzella del deserto.
