Written in collaboration, a Hesperian Foundation published handbook focus on the health issues of the women with disabilities in over 40 developing and developed countries. The handbook aims to help women with disabilities to care for themselves on their general health and participate more effectively in their communities.

The Papua Legislative Council is deliberating a regulation that would see microchips implanted in people living with HIV/AIDS so authorities could monitor their actions. The regulation has been condemned by activists in the province as a gross violation of rights.
