The disabled persons start initiatiative with the Parliament
27.09.2005 Krusevo and Prilep will be the starting point of the caravan that will travel throughout Macedonia, with the intent to collect 10,000 signatures for the petition to adopt a Law on Protection of Rights and Dignity of Disabled Persons. The initiative was started by Polio Plus, in cooperation with 23 other associations of persons with special needs.

27.09.2005 Federal contractors involved in Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts have been exempted from requirements that ensure employment opportunities for women and minorities. "The exemption could hurt the very people most affected by Hurricane Katrina, effectively shutting them out from the opportunity to participate in rebuilding their own neighborhoods," civil rights advocates said.
