The World Bank said the NGOs in Bangladesh should not be involved in political activities like elections to uphold their achievements made so far, reports UNB. Direct involvement in politics is not under the purview of their activities
the focus of their activities should be on social development, World Banks senior economist in Dhaka Hassan Zaman said.

The Albanian Human Rights Group presented, Wednesday, May 3, the draft-law on discrimination in Albania to members of the civil society and NGO's in Albania. This is the first ever attempt for civil society to push for a new anti-discrimination law in the country, which has been an obligation for Albania by the recommendations of the Committee Against Discrimination in Geneva.

ADB will help strengthen the role of civil society in the fight against corruption through a technical assistance (TA) grant of US$150,000.The TA will provide small grants to civil society organizations (CSOs) to demonstrate their role in improving transparency and accountability, and fighting corruption.
