21.07.2006 The European Commission published the mandates for negotiations on visa regime alleviation and readmission agreements with Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The mandates provide for much simpler and quicker procedure, as well as issuance of multiple entry visas covering longer periods of time for students, researchers, artists and business-people, for travel into the EU.

14.07.2006 Tonka Rakusic, 60-year old citizen of Zagreb, was arrested yesterday while standing peacefully in the St. Mark’s Square in Zagreb, holding a banner that declared “I am a victim of judicial and police crime”. The Law on Public Gathering prohibits all forms of public gathering within 100-meter circle around the buildings of the Croatian Sabor, the President of the Republic, the Government and Constitutional Court. GONG association strongly protested the arrest.

13.07.2006 The “Doves” centre for children with limited capacities has officially become a part of Tirana Municipal public services system. At full capacity, the Centre can accept 35 children residents (the children spend the weekdays at the Centre and go home for the weekends) and at this time, it also functions as day-care centre for additional 35 children.
