The CESI Education, Counselling and Research Centre, in partnership with the Open Media Group (OMG), starts the implementation of the National Campaign for Prevention of Gender-Based Violence. The campaign aims to raise youth awareness about this problem and prevent gender-based violence.

On the occasion of March 8, the International Women’s Day, the Croatian Women Network, in cooperation witht he Women Section of the Association of Independent Trade Unions of Croatia and the Women Committee of the Croatian Independent Trade Unions, organized a protest march, starting at former factory “Nada Dimic” and ending the walk at “Kamenita vrata” (Stone Portal), as a warning to deteriorating position of women in the labour market.

The MAJA MILES Award, presented annually by the Croatian Women Network for achievement in gender sensitive journalism, for 2007 will go to Orlanda Obad from Jutarnji List and Irena Frlan from Novi List, for their systemic and quality promotion of gender and sexual minoritiesÂ’ equality in the media. The Award is presented on March 8, the International WomenÂ’s Day.
