The UN Trust Fund to End Violence Against Women is accepting applications for its 12th grant cycle (2007) related to the implementation of existing laws, policies and plans of action to address violence against women and reducing the twin pandemics of HIV/AIDS and violence against women.

The Intel Foundation partnered with the Digital Empowerment Foundation, a New Delhi-based non-governmental organisation has granted a donation of US 60,000 (Rs.25 lakh) towards women's education and empowerment in India.

There is something remarkable in the tribal women of North Indian state of Orissa as they have increased their level of awareness and no longer dependent on the money lenders. On the contrary, today they are small-scale entrepreneurs by forming SHGs groups and selling the turmeric which has good production in their village.
