The proposed amendments to Sections 40 and 83 of the Zimbabwean Access to Information and Protection bill poses a greater danger to press freedom and democratic principles as they violate not only the Constitution of Zimbabwe, but also the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the African Charter on Human and People's Rights.

The Panos Global AIDS Programme (GAP) will be running a series of activities and producing resources for the media around the XV International AIDS Conference in Bangkok, July 11th to 16th, for both media attending the Conference and for those who are not. The Panos GAP is a network of Panos offices from Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and Europe. It aims to support in-depth, balanced media reporting in the South and to provide a Southern perspective to media in the North.
