The copyrights in Albania are protected by law and is statutory in article 58 of the Albanian Constitution. On the other hand, Albania is signatory of a series of international conventions and treaties (the Bern, Rome, Geneva, Paris conventions) and member of OMPI (Organisation Mondiale de la Propriété Intellectuelle) as well.

The Presidents of Rwanda, Tunisia and Senegal have been nominated for this year's ICT Africa awards in recognition of their role in ICT development in their respective countries.

The World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters' (AMARC) Asia-Pacific office will be holding a roundtable discussion in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on 5 May 2006, that will bring together community radio producers and advocates, non-governmental organisations and donors to assess the social impact of community radio in the region.

OneWorld South Asia (OWSA) and Vanavil Trust launched the Tamil Community Radio on Tamil New Years Day, Friday 14, April 2006 with a view to building the capacity of Tamil minorities in Delhi by producing and exchanging information of local importance in the Tamil language.

Citizens Have the Right to Know NGO coalition that emerged from the 2003 campaign to adopt the Law on Free Access to Information, sent last Friday an open letter to the Parliamentary Clubs in the Croatian Sabor, demanding from the MPs to renounce the Draft-Law on Confidentiality of Information.
