Rock ‘n Roll has a new partner: Sunshine. Throughout Austin, Texas outdoor events are tapping into the sun, and skeptics--who argued solar-power would diminish sound quality--are being proven wrong: the stages provide sound for up to five-thousand people and are receiving rave reviews from the music industry.

The image of Serbia in the European countries and the US is chiefly related to war, poverty and instability, and there is a stereotyping of Serbs as aggressive and war-mongering nation, show the results of a poll conducted by “Exit Team” and “TraNSfer” Club od Psychology Students during the EXIT 05 Music Festival.

Palestine's art scene is remarkably vibrant; Ramallah and Gaza held successful theatre festivals this summer. Although some have questioned art's importance in a war zone, Abdelfattah Abu-Srour, of the Gaza Theater Festival, explains that theatre allows people to release the “anger, frustration, and pressure they live under, and to deliver their message in a peaceful, nonviolent, and civilized way.”

Raped, and abandoned by their husbands for "shaming their honor," a group of Kenyan women started their own village ten years ago. Today the all-female community continues to flourish and act as a safe haven for young women escaping violence and forced marriage. The women run their own tourist campsite and a cultural center where they sell traditional crafts and jewelry, and have been so successful they are able to send their children to school for the first time.
