23.03.2005 RSF reste plus que jamais mobilisée en faveur des 21 journalistes cubains encore emprisonnés depuis la vague de répression de mars 2003. Cuba est toujours la deuxième plus grande prison du monde pour les journalistes après la Chine. Deux ans après le "printemps noir" à Cuba, et l'arrestation, le 18 mars 2003, de 75 dissidents et journalistes, RSF appelle à la solidarité la plus large à l'égard de ces prisonniers d'opinion.

16.03.2005 Deux journaliste de la chaîne de télévision satellitaire du Parti démocratique du Kurdistan (PDK), Kurdistan-TV, ont été tués en moins d'une semaine. Houssam Hilal Sarsam, cameraman, a été abattu le 14 mars 2005 à Mossoul (380 km au nord de Bagdad) tandis que Laik Ibrahim, journaliste, a été abattu le 10 mars à Kirkouk (250 km au nord de Bagdad).

02.03.2005 Les procès du 2 mars 2005 de Fikret Baskaya et de Ragip Zarakolu symbolisent la persistance des problèmes liés à la liberté d'expression en Turquie
PEN International, l'UIE, ainsi que de nombreuses autres ONG internationales comme Amnesty international ou Human Rights Watch, sont présentes en Turquie afin d'assister aux procès de l'éditeur Ragip Zarakolu et de l'écrivain Fikret Baskaya. Les deux procès ont lieu le 2 mars 2005 respectivement à Istanbul et à Ankara.
