25.09.2006 The Group of Ministers (GoM), which has been assigned the task of ironing out differences within the Union Cabinet on amendments to the community radio regime, has cleared the changes proposed by the Union Information and Broadcasting (I&B) Ministry. This includes the contentious issue of allowing advertisements on such radio stations.

14.09.2006 The World Intellectual Property Rights (WIPO), the permanent UN body on copyrights and associated rights, currently discusses the Draft Broadcasting Treaty. The Treaty proposes new and serious restriction on the rights of the authors of broadcast works and free exchange of contents over the internet, especially for podcasters and podcasting organizations.

05.09.2006 Kako doznajemo, organizacija Slobodna kultura, odnosno Vikimedija Srbije je krajem prošlog meseca dobila pismo o namerama od Creative Commons International čime je postala zvanični partner ove organizacije. To znači da je Vikimediji Srbije, kao glavnom nosiocu projekta, potvrđeno ekskluzivno pravo na lokalizaciju Creative Commons licenci u Srbiji.

04.09.2006 Canadian Journalists for Free Expression (CJFE) has awarded this year’s international press freedom award to Hayatullah Khan of Pakistan along with other journalists. An exception was made to honour Khan who had been abducted in December 2005 and whose body was found in June 2006.
