Demands by youths in Mazabuka for Government to increase the allocation of the youth empowerment fund has riled Mazabuka District Commissioner who has demanded the Mazabuka Community Radio Management to fire a Journalist Innocent Chinyemba who he accused of conspiring with youths who featured during the live debate program sponsored by the Press Freedom Committee of the Post Newspaper.

A survey released in Washington on the eve of International Women's Day revealed this opinion across 16 nations. Barring India, there was also a global consensus that it is the responsibility of governments to promote women's rights.

The Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act (AIPPA) of Zimbabwe is increasingly being cited in issues involving media freedom violations in Zimbabwe. In the latest incident, Dr Sikhanyiso Ndlovu , the Minister of Information and Publicity, has threatened to sue The Financial Gazette in terms of the repressive AIPPA Act.
