30.04.2007 The oneVillage Foundation has aligned with the International Free and Open Source Software Foundation (iFOSSF) for empowering developing nations in Information, Communication and Technologies (ICTs) by initiating a project “Telecenter Portals and Applications." The first project will be launched in Ghana.

20.04.2007 To address the need for building up a Southern discourse on the information society phenomenon, ITforChange(ITfC) launched a beta version of 'Information Society Watch' (www.IS-Watch.net) in April 2007. This is a resource portal providing a Southern perspective on information society (IS) issues. ITforChange is a non-profit organization based in Bangalore, India, that visualizes a society competent in the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) as a tool for progressive social change.

17.04.2007 UNDP-APDIP and APC WNSP release a publication on Gender and ICT which says access to ICTs benefits women. This e-primer examines the role of women in ICT, and to ensure their equal participation in the Information Society.

17.04.2007 Singapore-based AMIC is organizing the RadioAsia Conference 2007 at Singapore Expo. The conference will supposedly challenge the perception that technology alone is responsible for driving change in communications.

13.04.2007 The Metamorphosis Foundation joined the Association of Progressive Communications (APC) as a full member. In partnership with APC, Metamorphosis will conduct activities related to exchange of knowledge and experience, overcoming the digital gap, inclusion and human rights.

02.04.2007 The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), in cooperation with the private and civil sector and the other relevant state administration bodies and institutions, prepared the Draft- National Strategy for Development of Electronic Communications with Information Technology.
