A group of students from the "Metodi Mitevski Brico" high school from Delcevo, won the prestigious Platinum Prize Award for best web-site at the Doors to Diplomacy 2006 award competition, organized by the US State Department. The students won this years award in a strong competition of 306 projects from 46 states in the world.

In May 2006 SBMA launched its first Rural Knowledge Centre (RKC) at Saliayana, Gairsain. This centre uses office computer and has a v-sat connectivity and offers services for the community.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM), the National Democratic Institute (NDI), and the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA) have announced a new partnership to create an International Knowledge Network of Women in Politics called "iKNOW Politics."

The OpenDocument Format Alliance (ODF Alliance), a broad crosssection of associations, academic institutions and industry dedicated to solving the problem of improving access and retrieval of electronic government documents, today congratulated the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for its sweeping approval of the OpenDocument Format as an international standard, as well as OASIS which created and submitted the format to ISO.

Under intensive pressure by the EU and the U.S., Serbia and Montenegro fully approximated its body of legislation in the field of copyright and associated rights protection with European legislation. It endows the same legal status to the domestic authors with foreign counterparts anywhere in the world, including the length of protection and the rights to which an author is entitled.

Macedonian Law on Copyright and Associated Rights was adopted by the Sobranie of the Republic of Macedonia (the Parliament) in 1996. After several rounds of changes and amendments, dictated primarily by the demands of the international organizations and, above all, the European acquis communautaire in the field of protection of intellectual property rights, the Law today doesn't differ at all from similar regulations in the other countries of the Balkans or Europe, for that matter.
