OneWorld South Asia extends an invitation to join the opening of phone-based Information and Knowledge Exchange Service for Rural Communities. This would be inaugurated on 28th September 2006, at the Jacaranda Hall, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi, between 1000 hrs 1300 hrs followed by lunch.

The World Intellectual Property Rights (WIPO), the permanent UN body on copyrights and associated rights, currently discusses the Draft Broadcasting Treaty. The Treaty proposes new and serious restriction on the rights of the authors of broadcast works and free exchange of contents over the internet, especially for podcasters and podcasting organizations.

The Slobodna kultura (Free Culture) organizations, i.e. Wikimedia Serbia received at the end of August the Letter of Intentions from Creative Commons International, thus becoming official partner of Creative Commons.
