Caste activism will be among one of the very strong focal points at the ISF with a series of events highlighting the Dalit situation in the contemporary world being lined up at the forum from November 10 to 12. These events will touch upon various issues like caste politcs and discrimination, Dalit movements and globalisation and will see participation by renowned activists like Ms. Ruth Manorama, etc.

Indian NGO Housing and Land Rights Network (HLRN) is coordinating a workshop - Realizing Housing and Land Rights: The Way Forward - on November 10 from 4-7 pm at W1 at the India Social Forum. Kidwai refutes the much-thought belief that women activists only speak for and to women and are limited to women issues. She says that liberalisation, privatisation, and globalisation are issues also related to and impacting women.
