13.02.2007 Following the protests over the huge January electricity bills that came as rather bad surprise to the citizens of Montenegro, the Network for Affirmation of Non-Governmental Sector (MANS) continues the campaign to collect the signatures on a petition to the Government demanding that the citizens get the same treatment regarding their electricity bills reserved to the Aluminium Corporation.

07.02.2007 Three staff members of Akuna, a bimonthly trade union newspaper, were seized on Monday from the suburbs of Colombo, according to news reports. The men, who are also trade union activists, may be in government custody. The Committee to Protect Journalists, an international watchdog for media rights, has called upon the Sri Lankan government to locate the missing journos.
