55% dei 'no' alla Costituzione Europea
30.05.2005 Con circa il 55% dei votanti la Francia ha pronunciato un secco no alla nuova Costituzione europea aprendo di fatto la crisi all'interno del governo. Nonostante secondo i sondaggi sia in vantaggio il no anche nel voto di mercoledi in Olanda, le letture del voto francese in Italia sono attribuite a un “soprassalto emotivo di egoismi nazionali venati di razzismo”. Ma l’editoriale del settimanale Carta spiega come il voto ha voluto bocciare il progetto neoliberista della Costituzione che prevede con la direttiva Bolkestein una concorrenza selvaggia tra lavoratori dei vari paesi. “Un No autenticamente europeo e internazionalista per una Europa solidale, sociale, pacifica, democratica” precisano dal movimento Attac. Intanto ai movimenti transalpini viene lanciata una proposta di convocare nei prossimo mesi una Convenzione dei cittadini europei, a Parigi, in cui gettare le fondamenta di una Costituzione effettivamente democratica.

 Campagna OSM - Obiezione spese militari
28.05.2005 Con l’avvicinarsi del 2 giugno, giornata in cui si celebra la “Festa della Repubblica”, le reti della pace si attivano proponendo di sostenere la campagna per l’obiezione alle spese militari. “La Parata Militare in via dei Fori Imperiali a Roma è anacronistica in un’epoca in cui la guerra preventiva rischia di prendere il sopravvento sul diritto internazionale” ha dichiarato Gualtiero Via della Rete di Lilliput presentando le modalità per aderire alla campagna. Tra le richieste si aggiunge anche la proposta di legge per una Difesa Popolare Nonviolenta, che chiede la possibilita' di congedi dal lavoro per partecipare a missioni internazionali. In Italia esiste una Rete dei Corpi civili di pace che raggruppa una decina di organizzazioni nazionali. Tra queste l’esperienza dell’Associazione Berretti Bianchi in Iraq e dell’Operazione Colomba in Kossovo dimostrano che l’alternativa è nelle nostre mani.

Protestas en la Paz, Bolivia
26.05.2005 La capitale bolivienne a passé la journée d'hier isolée du reste du pays en raison des manifestations et des barrages de routes, auxquelles s'ajoutera aujourd'hui la fermeture de son aéroport international. Le président Carlos Mesa a répété qui continuera son mandat jusqu'en 2007 tandis que se multiplient les doutes sur cette possibilité.
