South African President Thabo Mbeki
15.04.2004 Thabo Mbeki's African National Congress (ANC) has won the national and provincial elections by scooping more than 69 % of the April 14, vote. The Democratic Alliance (DA) is second with just over 12% and the Inkhata Freedom Party (IFP) third with almost 7%. The ANC's performance is better this year compared to their 1999 victory of 66.35%.
