25.01.2007 SAN FRANCISCO, Jan 24 (OneWorld) - At least 186 antiwar protests in the United States have been monitored by the Pentagon's domestic surveillance program, according to documents obtained by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), which also found that the Defense Department collected more than 2,800 reports involving Americans in a single anti-terrorism database.

17.01.2007 Awaiting the Parliamentary Elections, scheduled to take place on January 21, the Gay-Straight Alliance and the Anti-Trafficking Centre organized a debate on the Law on Prohibition of Discrimination and regulations on status of sexual minorities. Only the representatives of the Democratic Party, the LDP-GSS-SDU-LSV Coalition and G17 Plus answered the invitation and appeared at the event.

The protest is part of the January 11 International Day to Shut Down Guantanamo, during which many groups in the United States and abroad are expected to rally thousands of human rights activists.
