Rebuilding Afghanistan
02.04.2008 Aid has made a big difference to Afghan lives, but major weaknesses have severely constrained its capacity to reduce poverty. ACBR’s report Falling short: Aid effectiveness in Afghanistan published by Oxfam reveals that donors have failed to meet their aid pledges and much of the aid is wasted, ineffective or uncoordinated.

07.03.2008 BOGOTA, Mar 7 (OneWorld) - Amid the escalating diplomatic crisis with Venezuela, Ecuador, and now Nicaragua, tens of thousands of Colombians marched yesterday in solidarity with the victims of their country's violent conflict. They were joined by demonstrators in capital cities across the continent, as well as Paris and New York.

22.01.2008 The six-year long ceasefire between Sri Lankan government and Tamil tigers had seen the economy grow by an annual average of over 12% in the war-affected north-east. The Sinhala-dominated southern and western parts too had gained. It now remains to be seen where the current hostilities will lead the economy.
