The Croatian Anti-War Campaign (ARK) and the Centre for Peace Studies will organize a round-table discussion ARK Legacy 1991-2005: How to Preserve and Present Material and Immaterial Records of the Work of the Greatest Peace Network in Croatia. The discussion will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at the National and University Library in Zagreb, from 11:00-14:00 hours.

I have to take issue with Abid Aslam's article, "Third Iraq Anniversary Finds Publics Weary of War and Protest," particularly the assertion that anti-war activism has waned. I was surprised to see OneWorld joining the trend of playing down opposition to the Iraq war...

In the aftermath of the first round of ceasefire talks, between the Sri Lankan government and the LTTE, in Geneva the question is whether the peace process will be a sustainable one or not. Compared to the last occasion that peace talks commenced, in Thailand in September 2002, the sense of optimism is less. This time around there is a more sober assessment of the possibilities.
