Projects include: Panos Institute, Senegal, Internet-based community radio programming distribution project and Association for Progressive Communications, to advance the interests of civil society through the Internet.

The Markle Foundation works to realize information technology's potential and promotes the development of communications industries that address public needs. The Global Digital Opportunity Project supports the use of ICT to advance international development objectives.
Geographical focus: CEE, Russia, South Africa
Supports the development of global nonprofit networks and addresses the emerging issues of access to information technology and the Internet.

Communication for Social Change aims to enhance the effectiveness of development initiatives focusing on the poor and excluded by fostering innovative communication approaches that engage, empower and engender positive social change.
