The worlds 1.2 billion cellphone users will have increased to 2 billion by the end of the year, led by Africa where mobile use is growing faster than anywhere else. A new exhibition looks at what happens to the phones that come to the end of the line.

Biodegradeable mobile phone covers, phones that take themselves apart for recycling, covers implanted with sunflower seeds which mean phones can be buried rather than put in the wastepaper basket. A new exhibition shows what can be done with mobs - a matter of concern given that 1,712 mobile phones are upgraded every hour in the UK alone.
