Learning and training

INTRAC's well-regarded training programme for NGOs runs through to March 2005 in Oxford and London. Courses concentrate on issues around strengthening civil society, organisational capacity building, and programme development. A strong belief in values of social justice, empowerment and the participation of poor people in their own development is reflected in INTRAC's approach to training and learning.

Charities Aid Foundation is unveiling a comprehensive programme of training to help charities increase their resources. Tailored to different charity audiences, the workshop series will run throughout the UK on issues ranging from understanding tax-effective giving, to online fundraising and an introduction to investments. CAF is also offering bespoke in-house training to meet the needs of individual charitable organisations.

This year's DSA annual conference will be held in London on 6 November. As well as plenary sessions, there will be 21 workshop sessions. Each workshop will focus on the current controversies, thinking, policy or practice around a different topic with reference to the conference theme of linking research and policy.
