A look at the "Zagreb Pride" from a tram
21.06.2004 Between 200 and 300 participants of the “Zagreb Pride” gay parade gathered last Saturday on Zrinjevac and proceeded, with strong police protection, through the streets of downtown Zagreb.

Yelling “Gay is OK” and “Love is Love” slogans, the participants in the parade promoted the rights of homosexual, bisexual and trans-sexual persons.

Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader addressed the European Council in Brussels
18.06.2004 European Union leaders declared that Croatia is a candidate for membership in the bloc and will begin accession negotiations early next year, sources said.

Exhumations in Vukovar
10.06.2004 The officials from the Bureau for Prisoners of War and Missing Persons of the Ministry of Family, War Veterans and Generational Solidarity, took over the remains of the four persons exhumed at the cemeteries of Sremska Mitrovica and Novi Sad. The takeover procedures took place at the Ilok-Backa Palanka border crossing between Croatia and Serbia and Montenegro. The DNA analysis of the remains determined that the four persons were on the list of prisoners and missing persons from the Croatian Homeland War.

09.06.2004 Over 43 percent of children in Croatia live in families with poor property status, 43 with medium status, while only 14 percent live in relatively well off families, which places Croatia in the lower ranks of the list of 35 countries in which a Health Behaviour In School Aged Children (HBSC) survey on children behaviours was conducted.
