The associations of persons with disabilities support the new Book of Rules and Regulations on the use of accessibility sign. The new Rulebook states that the disabled persons that dont suffer from disabling conditions on their lower extremities, or have suffered less than 70 percent damage to their legs, wont be able to use the parking slots reserved for vehicles driven by disabled persons.

The majority of persons tried for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Croatian Courts were Croatian Serbs, and Croatian judiciary continues to discriminate on ethnic principle in the investigation and prosecution orf war-time violations of human rights, states the latest Amnesty International Report 2004, presented last Wednesday in Zagreb.

EKO Kvarner is an environmental association activie in the Kvarner area in Croatia. EKO Kvarner has been especially active in its opposition of the DruzbaAdria, international pipeline project, which is seen as a grave danger for the Adriatic Sea and Kvarner Bay in particular.

For the eight year in a row, the Attack! Autonomous Cultural Centre opens the FAKI - Festival of Alternative Theatre Forms in Zagreb. This year, FAKI will host over 100 participants from Croatia, Serbina and Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the UK, the Netherlands, Slovenia and Germany.

Zelena akcija environmental association send an opinion on the proposed changes in the Law on Hunting, which is greatly damaging to the owners of land covered by hunting grounds, to the Members of Croatian Sabor (the Parliament).

Eight wolves from Marinic based private asylum, operated by the ZOOEco association, was transferred to the Osijek City ZOO and the asylum for protected animals in Rascica. This has partially solved the month-long drama of the 15 predators that were left without food at the beginning of last winter.

The first coordination meeting of the Working Groups on Food Safety, Veterinarian Sciences and Phito-sanitary Supervision was held at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, in accordance with the decision of the Croatian Government to appoint National Delegation for Negotiations on Croatian accession to the EU.

Amnesty International Croatia appealed to the authorities to stop the violations of the Protocol 4 to the European Convention on Human Rights and the provisions of the Convention on Refugees. Air Adriatic airlines company assists the violations by providing transportation of illegal immigrants from Italy to Lybia.

The Domaci NGO from Karlovac conducted a survey on the cultural, entertainment and educational needs of youth (including also the middle-age generations) in Karlovac. The survey shows that a youth club (Mala Scena) should be established to provide cultural, entertainment and education contents to the youth.

Yesterday, May 11, Zelena akcija presented the Waste+Incinerator=Toxic Waste Performance, which illustrates the organizations opposition to the construction of communal waste incinerator facility until the urgent adoption of Waste Management Programme for the City of Zagreb, as well as the National Toxic Waste Management Plan.

Yesterday, May 10, the Gorica Centre for Independent Culture and Youth was opened at the Gorica-Badel industrial complex. The opening ceremony started with a conference for the media which was used to present the Right to a City Declaration and inform the public about the political parties that signed the Declaration.
