30.09.2005 The fifth International Days of the Drava river gathered the local and regional political figures, guests from Hungary, Slovenia and Serbia and Montenegro, representatives of the associations involved in the Drava River League, Zelena Akcija, and lovers of the Drava River.

29.09.2005 The new owner of “Dalmacijacement” from Split, the “CEMEX” international corporation, decided to lay off one hundred workers. The president of the United Trade Unions of Croatia, Ozren Matijasevic, said that the unions tried to fight for preservation of all jobs, but the ownership rejected their efforts.

28.09.2005 The philanthropist George Soros is this year’s laureate of the prestigious “Andrija Stampar” Award for Extraordinary Contribution to Public Health. The award was presented at the 27th Annual Conference of ASPHER (Association of Schools of Public Health in The European Region), held in Erevan, Armenia.

27.09.2005 The first International Forum of Environmental Journalists ended yesterday in Pozega. The three day forum was organized by the Croatian Environmental Press Centre, under the patronage of Ministry of Environmental Protection, Construction and Spatial Planning, discussed the subject of “Importance of Environmental Journalism in Environmental protection and prevention of devastation”.

05.09.2005 The prosecution authorities in Osijek have started the investigation on the criminal charges brought up against the Chairman of the Military Housing Commission, who is accused of war crimes and crimes against the civilian population.
