The U.S. defense secretaryÂ’s recent visit to Azerbaijan and recent comments by the deputy commander of U.S. forces in Europe are fueling speculations that the former communist country may be one of future military sites for the PentagonÂ’s rapid deployment force. The U.S. announced last week that it will pull 70, 000 troops from Europe and East Asia as part of the PentagonÂ’s shift to more mobile armed forces.
