29.06.2007 On May 30, 2005, along with three other persons I received a letter of death threat sent to my office by a person using a name of M. Julfikar from the defender of the New Order. In the letter he said that that I am a communist and disturbing stability in relation to the fights for justice for the Trisakti and Semanggi Student Shooting case (TSS) and accordingly within 15 days I will be executed.

28.06.2007 According to the study, 48% of Papuans are unaware of HIV/AIDS, and the number of AIDS cases per 100,000 people in Papua is almost 20 times the national average. In addition, the percentage of people who reported being unaware of HIV/AIDS increased to 74% among uneducated populations in the region.

21.06.2007 WASHINGTON, Jun 21 (IPS) - Environmental campaigners are urging several heavyweight investment firms, including Credit Suisse, Barclays, Fortis Group and Merrill Lynch, to shoulder some responsibility for a catastrophic mud volcano on the Indonesian island of Java that resulted from a gas project the firms helped fund.

Meanwhile, the local environmental agency says that PT RUJ, a company associated to Asia Pulp & Paper, did not comply with the procedure in conducting Amdal.

EoF found that over 4,500 hectare of natural forest has been clearcut for acacia plantation where around 1,500 ha of cleared land remain unplanted.
