As part of The Great Volga River Route project, an International Workshop on Sustainable Development and World Heritage took place on 28-31 July 2005 in Bucharest, Romania.The aim is to link young people through the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and engage them in the preservation and promotion of World Heritage and Biosphere sites.

UNESCO is organising this week a training seminar in Druskinenkai, Lithuania, for teachers and teacher trainers. The seminar aims to promote developing strategies and syllabi for ICT integration in Lithuania's general education.

A new project plans to help women in Lithuania's rural and less developed areas go on the Internet. It will set up five regional cyber centres and provide equipment to women's organisations and develop training methods and an ICT handbook in Lithuanian.
