48-year old Victor Codreanu once lost sleep thinking about how he would manage after retirement. But now his concerns have nearly vanished. "Even though retirement is still is a long way away, I do not worry because I know exactly what my pension will be, if I keep my current job and salary level," says Victor, who works in a factory in Ialoveni town.

Un recente rapporto UNICEF denuncia lo sfruttamento del lavoro minorile in Romania: una vera e propria piaga che coinvolge 1 milione di ragazzini e ragazzine di 12-13 anni obbligati a lavorare per 3 euro al giorno. Secondo lo studio di UNICEF, l8% dei bambini costretti a lavorare afferma di essere picchiati se non obbediscono alle richieste dei genitori - riporta Osservatorio sui Balcani.

Eleven countries from Southern Europe are currently participating in a project on ICTs for the development of education and the construction of a knowledge society. The project, which got underway earlier this year, includes activities like seminars and expert meetings on topics such as ICT application in distance education, IT training and multimedia courses.
