Stamp out torture
20.07.2004 The Amnesty 2004 Report for Bangladesh outlines a wide range of continuing human rights abuses in a country whose governance standards undermine progress. In particular, up to 13 deaths in police custody have raised questions about use of torture which is denied by the authorities.

19.07.2004 A summary case study of the work of a Grameen partner organisation with poor indigenous tribal groups in The Chittagong Hills. The now familiar characteristics of microcredit schemes are present; women as primary agents for small projects running alongside holistic development work. After 10 years, there are 39 branches of the programme with over $1m of accumulated savings.
