Kannettaviin tietokoneisiin liittyvä innovaatio toi nepalilaiselle Mahabir Punille arvostetun Ramon Magsaysay -palkinnon. Pun oli käynnistäjänä projektissa, joka yhdisti seitsemän nepalin vuoristokylää langattomilla yhteyksillä toisiinsa sekä lopulta Internetiin. Kaiken kaikkiaan hanke on tarjonnut 14 syrjäiselle kylälle lääkinnällisiä, koulutuksellisia sekä kaupankäynnillisiä palveluita.
